SCCAP is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in need throughout the Magic Valley.

South Central Community Action Partnership's Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program is a comprehensive initiative dedicated to empowering individuals, families and communities through a wide range of essential supportive services. CSBG funding supports activities that reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities and empower low-income families to become self-sufficient.

We begin this process by:

  • Building a relationship with the customer
  • Assessing their strengths, challenges and resources
  • Creating a plan with them and setting realistic and achievable goals
  • Supporting customers by discussing barriers that may be preventing them from moving out of their current situation
  • Connecting customers to their community by providing referrals and maintaining a relationship with the family during the process

Family Stabilization Services include providing:

  • Food Assistance- SCCAP distributes food through the USDA programs monthly. Distributions go to local food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens and individual food boxes directly to individuals/families throughout the year.
  • Information and referrals- If SCCAP is unable to provide a service or a support, we will connect individuals with other community resources.
  • Rental/Utility Assistance- This program assists families/individuals in crisis, to either obtain or maintain their housing/utilities.
  • Income management- Individuals work with Caseworkers to help identify spending trends, establish a budget and following up with clients increasing access to food, nutrition, health, education and transportation services.
  • Family Development- This program focuses on Strengths of individuals and families to broaden their basic skills and enhance their ability to be self-sufficient.
